Internships

WJCNY is currently seeking interns for the spring semester to support our outreach and education programming. Internships may be based in WJCNY’s offices in either Rochester or Kingston. 

Schedule: We ask for a minimum commitment of 10-15 hours/week for a period of at least 10 weeks. Full-time interns are also welcome. Flexible scheduling is available.  

Compensation: This internship position is unpaid. However, WJCNY will work with colleges and universities for interns to receive credit and/or institutional support when possible.  

Job Summary: Interns will work directly with the Worker Justice Center staff on a variety of legal, advocacy, and community engagement matters. Assignments include assisting with outreach to farmworkers and other low-wage workers, educational workshops, community events, translating documents and materials, assisting with client communications, conducting general administrative tasks, assisting with worker advocacy efforts, and conducting related research.

Internship Requirements:

  • Spanish language proficiency (strongly preferred)
  • A commitment to social justice issues
  • Computer proficiency
